The true essence of Primal Roots begins with the raw qualities of Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel that are artfully blended to create a smooth, full-bodied, sensual wine.
We harvest our fruit when the color, favors, acids, and tannins are all in balance. The fruit is crushed, destemmed, and cold-soaked for three days to allow optimal juice/skin contact before fermentation. This process yields a deep color, rich texture, and more concentrated fruit favors in our wine.
Oak aging helps build structure while introducing the underlying caramel and mocha characteristics that makes Primal Roots Red Blend Wine so popular.
Aromas of black cherry, plum, black currant, caramel, and hints of dark chocolate give way to a full bodied red blend with a soft entry, balanced fruit and tannins, and a lingering ripe cocoa finish.
